There are a few basic requirements for our program. Learners must be:

• 18 years of age or older

• out of school

• able to set goals and show progress

• demonstrate a need for our program

Please note: We are as accommodating as possible when it comes to eligibility for our program. The best way to move forward is to call us or drop in to schedule your free assessment, which will help us to determine what your best goal path would be.

• The length of time depends on your skill levels, your goals and the amount of time you can give to learning.

• Our classes are free. We are funded by the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development

• The Training & Learning Centre classes are offered on a continuous intake. There is no set start date and you can register at any time. You can attend on a full-time or part-time basis. Classes generally follow the regular school year, which means we may shut down for the summer months.

• We offer small group classes, which allows for more one-to-one support. There can be up to 6 learners per class.

• We ask learners to commit to specific goals and a schedule that works for them.

• Once you have completed your training or upgrading, we will help you transition to your next step of employment, training, education or independence.

• Yes. In most cases, attending classes at the Training & Learning Centre can help you meet your participation agreement requirements.

• The Training & Learning Centre is open Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The classroom is closed during July and August. Phone calls and emails will be monitored if you need to contact someone at the TLC over the summer.
